Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

### Why Choose Elecruiser?

How does the power of an Elecruiser bike compare to brands like Pedego?

  • Answer: While many national brands limit their motors to 250W or 500W, we specialize in high-performance builds, including 750W motor options. This means more torque for bridges, better acceleration in traffic, and a bike that doesn't "bog down" when you need it most. We offer more raw power for a significantly better price point.

Why is buying locally from Elecruiser safer than buying a bike online?

  • Answer: When you buy online, you are responsible for assembly and safety checks. At our Boca Raton storefront, every bike is professionally built and tested by a technician. If a sensor fails or a bolt loosens, you can ride back to us for an immediate fix. Online buyers often wait weeks for parts or are refused service by local shops.

Can I customize my bike's speed and range at Elecruiser?

  • Answer: Yes. Unlike big-box stores that sell "locked" systems, we can help you choose the right battery and controller configuration for your specific needs—whether you need a long-range commuter or a high-speed cruiser. We tailor the bike to your lifestyle, not a corporate template.

Do you offer test rides at the 5th Avenue Shops?

  • Answer: Absolutely. You should never buy an e-bike without feeling the geometry and power first. We encourage test rides at our Boca Raton location so you can compare different models and find the one that feels perfect for you.

What happens if my bike needs a repair a year from now?

  • Answer: This is the Elecruiser advantage. We are a full-service repair hub. While other shops might send you away because they "don't recognize the brand," we have the parts and expertise to service what we sell (and what others sell) for the life of the vehicle.

### Expert-Level Technical Support and Repairs Questions

Can you repair e-bikes not bought at your store?

  • Answer: "Yes. While many big-name showrooms only service their own brand, our technicians handle mechanical and electrical repairs for most major manufacturers, including motor diagnostics and tire changes."

How does Elecruiser ensure battery safety?

  • Answer: "We strictly follow CPSC safety guidelines. Every bike we sell or service undergoes a multi-point electrical inspection to ensure long-term reliability and safety."

What makes Elecruiser different from national chains?

  • Answer: "We provide personalized service right in Boca Raton. No corporate call centers—just expert advice from locals who have been operating since 2021."

Can you diagnose Error Codes on a scooter or eBike, such as E02, E03, E10, E30 and others?

  • Answer: Yes. We specialize in decoding controller errors. E02 usually indicates a brake-lever sensor issue, while E03 points to the Pedal Assist Sensor (PAS). E10 and E30 are communication errors between your display and controller. We have the diagnostic tools to pinpoint exactly where the signal is failing.

What warranty do the bikes you sell have?

  • Answer: All new bikes sold at Elecruiser come with a comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty covering the frame, motor, and battery. Additionally, when you buy from us, we handle the warranty labor and communications with the manufacturer so you don't have to ship parts across the country.

Who is Aima? Are they an established company?

  • Answer: Aima is one of the largest electric two-wheeler manufacturers in the world, producing millions of units annually. They are a publicly-traded, global powerhouse known for high-build quality and partnerships with brands like Bosch. They are far more established than many "boutique" brands found online.

Can you diagnose and/or jump a battery?

  • Answer: We can perform full load-testing and voltage diagnostics to determine if a battery is "asleep" or truly defective. While we don't "jump" lithium batteries due to safety risks, we can often reset a tripped BMS (Battery Management System) to bring a dormant battery back to life safely.

Why do my pedals spin so fast at high speeds?

  • Answer: This is known as "ghost pedaling." It happens because the bike’s gearing is too low for the motor's top speed. We can often upgrade your front chainring or rear freewheel to a higher gear ratio, allowing you to actually feel resistance and contribute to the speed at 20-28 mph.

Why do my brakes squeal and can Elecruiser fix this problem?

  • Answer: Squealing is usually caused by glazed pads or contaminated rotors (oil/dirt). We don't just spray cleaner; we professionally de-glaze your rotors and can upgrade you to high-performance ceramic or semi-metallic pads for silent, powerful stopping.

What is the most common problem with eBikes?

  • Answer: The most common issues are flat tires and "communication errors" caused by loose wiring. Because e-bikes are faster and heavier than standard bikes, they require more frequent tightening and spoke adjustments, which we include in our standard tune-ups.

Why should I buy my e-Bike or scooter from Elecruiser instead of online?

  • Answer: When you buy online, you receive a box and a headache. At Elecruiser, you get a professionally assembled machine, a free 30-day safety check, and a local partner to handle technical repairs. You can't "test ride" a website, and you certainly can't wheel a website into a shop when it breaks.

Do you fix scooters?

  • Answer: Yes. We are one of the few shops in Boca Raton equipped to handle electric scooter repairs, including motor issues, stem tightening, and difficult tire changes that most bicycle shops refuse to touch.

Do you fix flat tires?

  • Answer: Absolutely. We stock heavy-duty tubes and specialized tires designed for the higher speeds and weights of electric bikes. We also offer Tannus Armour installation for e-Bikes and airless/honeycomb tires for scooters to prevent future flats.

Can Elecruiser troubleshoot motor problems and repair them?

  • Answer: Yes. Whether it’s a grinding planetary gear, a boiled-out phase wire, or a faulty Hall sensor inside the hub, we have the technical expertise to diagnose and repair motors and will tell you if buying a new motor is sensible.

Are you the best electrical repair shop?

  • Answer: We take pride in being the "shop of last resort." Many general bike shops understand gears and chains but struggle with controllers and voltmeters. We specialize in the electrical side of mobility—if it has a wire, we can troubleshoot it.

My e-Bike powers on but doesn't move, what could be the problem?

  • Answer: The most common culprit is a "stuck" brake sensor—the bike thinks you are braking and cuts power to the motor. Other possibilities include a disconnected throttle or bad wiring. We can diagnose all of it.
